Skill Level: Beginning to Pre-Intermediate
Target Language: Giving Directions; Imperatives Required Materials: blindfold; miscellaneous common objects One student is blindfolded and sent out of the room while the rest of the class places different objects around the room. The blindfolded student then has to find the objects based only on the other students’ verbal directions. This is an excellent activity to sharpen listening skills and a fun activity for children. Variations Do the activity into a team game, with each time trying to find different objects simultaneously. Have the blindfolded student identify the object once it is found: What is it? It’s a book. Etc.
